Savings Goals
Set a savings target and track your progress toward it — holiday fund, emergency savings, down payment, or anything else you're working toward.
Creating a goal
/newgoal
You'll be asked for:
- Name — e.g. "Emergency Fund", "Japan Trip 2027"
- Target amount — the total you want to reach
- Currency — pick from MYR, USD, SGD, EUR, GBP or type any ISO code
- Deadline (optional) — a target date in YYYY-MM-DD format, or skip it
Viewing goals
/goals
Lists all your active goals, each shown with a progress bar:
Japan Trip 2027
▓▓▓▓░░░░░░ MYR 2,000 / MYR 5,000 (40%)
Deadline: Dec 2027 (21 months left)
Tap Add Progress to contribute an amount, Complete ✅ to mark it as done, or Delete to remove it.
Adding progress
Savings goals track progress manually — you decide when to add to a goal. Duitbot doesn't automatically deduct money from an account or link to your account balance.
To add progress:
- Open
/goals - Tap Add Progress on the goal
- Enter the amount you're setting aside
When you reach 100% or more, Duitbot congratulates you and prompts you to complete the goal.
Add progress whenever you set aside money — after a salary credit, a freelance payment, or any time you consciously move money toward your goal.
Completing a goal
Tap Complete ✅ to close a goal when you've reached your target. Completed goals are removed from the active list.
Deleting a goal
Tap Delete and confirm. Deleting removes the goal and its progress history entirely.
Group goals
When you're active in a group, goals are scoped to that group — all group members can see and contribute to them.
Switch to personal scope with /switchgroup if you want to create or view only your own goals.
